The Mission of the Michigan Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgeons Foundation

Our mission is to support the development of surgeon scientists and clinicians in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery with the overall goal of improving patient quality of care through practice improvement, research, and educational initiatives.

The Michigan Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgeons Foundation was established in 2023 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is a sister organization to the Society. Through the years, the Society has evolved to become nationally known, with seminal contributions advancing Thoracic Surgery science and improving the quality of cardiothoracic surgical care in the State of Michigan and around the country. We have been fortunate to have a dynamic board that has worked very hard and diligently; that had a vision to maintain a vibrant and relevant Society.
