General Thoracic Surgery Sites

Our Community of Participants

The MSTCVS General Thoracic Collaborative brings together thoracic surgeons from hospitals across Michigan to enhance care for patients undergoing lung cancer resection, esophageal cancer resection, hiatal hernia repair, and thymectomy.

Through statewide meetings and educational sessions, member sites engage in transparent review of clinical data, share best practices, and benchmark outcomes using the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) General Thoracic Surgery Database, in which all MSTCVS‑QC hospitals actively participate. This coordinated approach helps reduce variation in care, strengthen cancer staging and treatment practices, and ensure patients receive guideline‑based therapy. As the Collaborative continues to grow, it remains focused on improving thoracic surgical care across Michigan through collaborative, surgeon‑led efforts.
